From Sarah E. White:

I learned to knit from my grandmother when I was in elementary school. Of all the crafts and skills my grandmother taught (including cross stitch, sewing and a seriously failed attempt at crochet), I took to knitting the most. I have always loved the satisfaction of making something warm and wonderful with my own hands.

One of my proudest moments was in high school when I won a Grand Champion ribbon at the county fair for a knitted baby blanket. That was when I knew I wanted to learn all I could about knitting.

Handmade items are such a treat, whether you keep them for yourself or give them to friends or family members, and I delight in making and giving knitted gifts to everyone on my gift list. I also love to share the joy of knitting and want to let everyone know that no matter how old or young you are, you can master knitting quickly and easily and wow family and friends (not to mention strangers on the street) with your creations.
