If I’m being perfectly honest, I have to say myself. Once I started knitting again, I decided to fill up the big gaps in my wardrobe with nice knitted sweaters and accessories. Second favorite would be my 2 daughters, ages 16 and 23–sweaters and accessories for them, too. However, one of my goals this year is to start doing charity knitting, either preemie hats or chemo caps, I think. I did just one charity project last year, but I really enjoyed it.
I love to knit for charitable organizations. It gives me a good feeling to know that I’m actually helping someone who will appreciate it.
I learned to knit when I was 10, knitted for a while and then put my needles down. I started up again about 7 years ago. I love to knit for my grandchildren. I have 3 daughters and have made afghans for each, as well as one for my bed. I also knit for charity. It seems more satisfying to knit for others.
I started knitting seriously when my daughters were born. I knitted mainly for my family, as needed. Then I knitted for my granddaughter.
Four years ago I had some malady that forced me to four walls. but my hands were working. That is when I began to knit for charity and mainly for babies and children. Now I am well but enjoy knitting for little ones who need warmth.
In between I also knit for my family.
I knit a lot for charity. Last year it was mittens and this year is stocking caps - I started the first cap yesterday. I also knit for my family and friends and all the new babies I know of. I really just like to knit - okay love to knit - and I found out a long time ago that there is a limit to how many sweaters anybody needs. Charity knitting gives me an outlet for my products and I get to do what I love to do.
