Knit Cards from Nancy's Knit Knacks.
I'm all about gifts that are useful as well as fun, and I think this week's idea fits that bill nicely. It's the Knit Kards from
Nancy's Knit Knacks. This is a set of 14 cards chock-full of basic knitting information that knitters of all skill levels will enjoy having at their fingertips.
Some of the topics covered on the cards include:
- a formula for estimating the length of a long tail
- making buttonholes
- kitchener stitch
- yarn yardage estimates
- increases and decreases
- fiber care instructions
- how to make a perfect gauge swatch
- knitting abbreviations
- yarn weight classifications
- rate of increase or decrease on angles
There are also cards you can write on to keep track of your knitting needle and crochet hook inventory and to stash the measurements of four of the people you knit for. Cards can be purchased individually or as a set, so you can pick and choose the ones you think would be most useful or buy them all.
The full set also comes with two rings to hold the cards, which are punched in one corner.
