Where Do You Get the Patterns You Knit?

Wednesday August 20, 2008
There are many different sources for patterns these days, from books and magazines to this website and others. I love to use many pattern sources for inspiration, but most of the things I knit come straight out of my head onto the needles.

I'm wondering this week where you get the patterns you knit. Do you design for yourself, or are you devoted to a particular magazine? With this poll you can check all that apply. And if you get patterns from a source I didn't think of, add it in the comments.

i get my patterns anywhere i can from online to hobby lobies free pattern sheets, and there is a second had store in my town called Big Brothers, Big Sisters and lots of the time they have old pattern books and needles, and once in a while the old workbasketsmagizines, which i buy all if i find them, such a good little magazine, i have a huge supply of them and i think what i am going to do is copy the patterns i want out of them and then pass them on to ebay, i also grab every size 8 needles i can find so that i can give them away when i teach someone how to knit as this seems to be the best size to learn on, i have given away so many sets of needles and it is so much fun to teach someone else this hobby, and when i do i also include a skien of yarn from my stash, just knitting worsted for that person to practice on,

I get patterns from everywhere I can find them. I roam the internet, have magazines and books that I own and I sometimes make it up as I go.
I’d like to get better at the designing element, but it takes time and patience and practice so I take it one small step at a time.

I love to look at the internet and find different patterns. I also get ideas from my LYS, and she suppies me with the pattern.
I also subscribe to several magazines and get idea’s from them.
