Wordeless Wednesday: Karabella Lace Mohair

Wednesday July 16, 2008
Karabella Lace Mohair
Karabella Yarns Lace Mohair, 67 percent superkid mohair, 3 percent wool, 10 percent polyamidic fiber. 540 yards per 50 gram ball, lace weight. (c) Sarah E. White.

This picture does not do this yarn justice. For one thing, it's really more purple, and it's soft and fuzzy and lacy all at once. I've had this for years (two skeins) and have no idea what I want to do with it. Any ideas?

Send me a picture of your favorite yarn.

Two skeins…hmmm. The color is great - with so little yarn I’d be tempted to create a lacy scarf or shawl I could wear with several outfits.

I’d be tempted to make a cute beret out of it.

I am making a beautiful shrug wrap out of one skien of this type of yarn, a hat out of the other skien, and trim some mittens out of what is left.

I’d probably make a chemo cap out of it.

Here’s a soft fuzzy of another sort.

I’d like to make that myself.

I agree. A shawl or shawlette could be knitted up quickly using size 11 or 13 needles and simplistic lace pattern. The yarn would look would so very lovely displayed in a light airy, yet warm wrap, suitable shall we say for a cruise?
