Stranded Knitting Tips
- What I've found helpful to keep the floats loose is to insert a fingertip under the yarn being moved to use to give it a little extra length. Depending on how far apart my color changes are, this may only be a fingernail, sometimes it's over that finger completely. Also stretching the stitches out as you go on the right needle makes sure that you have enough yarn to prevent puckers. Sometimes you do have to ease in additional yarn before you go on. Color coding the charts if need be is also a good thing if you have trouble with which symbol means what color. Do this on a photocopy of the chart so you can reuse the original for succeeding uses of the pattern.
