Fiber Content
The sweater was handspun from rambouillet white wool blended with sable and natural brown cotton. The stripes are merino wool dyed with Cushing dye, salmon. Each strip was done using bobbins.
It was knitted in the round. I cut up the front and added the edging for the button holes and buttons.
This was knitted with size 7 needles. The buttons haven't been made yet. I'm doing them at my
pottery class.
It fits! I'm very happy with it. The wool is from our own sheep.
How It's Spun
I spun all the fiber on my electric spinning wheel. It is two ply yarn. Ten wraps per inch. Z twist, S ply.
My husband took the jumbo flyer from my Ashford wheel and made a frame for my 'wheel'. I had problems at one point with a bad hip and it was uncomfortable for me to sit long periods of time at the wheel. By making it electric I was able to be more comfortable while spinning.
