Once you get started winding the ball, just keep going until you run out of yarn. Go ahead and wind the yarn over the end of the tube that doesn't have the yarn tail coming out of it, as this will give your ball more of a ball shape that will hold together better.

When you're finished, you'll have something that looks kind of like a mushroom -- a flatish ball with your tube as the stem.
