Vertical Parallelogram stitch worked over 20 stitches.

Definition:

Works on multiples of 5 stitches.

Row 1: *Purl 1, knit 4. Repeat from * across.

Rows 2 and 3: *Purl 3, knit 2. Repeat from * across.

Row 4: Repeat row 1.

Row 5: *Knit 1, purl 4. Repeat from * across.

Rows 6 and 7: *Knit 3, purl 2. Repeat from * across.

Row 8: Repeat row 5.

Repeat these rows for pattern.

Note that either side of this fabric can be considered the "right" side. If the odd rows are the front, the parallelograms will slant to the left, as shown. If the even rows are the front, the parallelograms will slant to the right.
