Definition:

Cable is a panel of 12 stitches.

Row 1 and 3: Knit 2, purl 8, knit 2.

Row 2: Purl 2, knit 8, purl 2.

Row 4: Purl 2, slip 2 stitches onto cable needle or double pointed needle and hold in back of the work, knit 2, knit 2 from cable needle, slip 2 onto cable needle and hold in front, knit 2, knit 2 from cable needle, purl 2.

Rows 5-7: Repeat rows 1, 2 and 3.

Row 8: Purl 2, slip 2 onto cable needle and hold in front, knit 2, knit 2 from cable needle, slip 2 onto cable needle and hold in back, knit 2, knit 2 from cable needle, purl 2.

Rows 9-12: Repeat rows 5-8.

Rows 13-16: Repeat rows 1-4.

Repeat these 16 rows for pattern.
