Rippleicious:

This Ripple Stitch Scarf is a breeze to knit and a lot of fun as well, particularly when knit in a bright color like the one shown -- perfect for chasing away cold-weather blahs.

The bulky yarn is a dream to work with, and you can knit one of these up in two or three evenings in front of the fire, or the television set. For gift knitting, make this one up in the recipient's favorite color, the color of their favorite sports team, or even stripes. Either way, it will be good to go in no time.

Materials:

  • two skeins Lamb's Pride Bulky (I used color M-22, Autumn Harvest), or about 200 yards of your favorite bulky wool-blend yarn
  • one pair size 10.5 US knitting needles
  • scissors and yarn needle

Gauge:

14 stitches and 20 rows per 4 inches (3.5 stitches and 5 rows per inch) in Ripple Stitch. Gauge is not critical.

Size:

Finished size is 4 inches wide and 60 inches long. If using Lamb's Pride, there will be yarn left over so scarf can be made longer, if desired.

Instructions for Ripple Stitch Scarf:

  1. Cast on 14 stitches.
