Brioche stitch is a great knitting technique that produces a warm, squishy fabric that looks sort of like ribbing.
Working the stitch in two colors is even more fun because you get a predominant color on each side.
Materials
- One hank each of two colors of Malabrigo Merino Worsted, or about 210 yards each of worsted/medium weight wool of your choice
- Set of size 9 US (5.5 mm) circular needles; length does not matter, but go for a shorter one if you have it
Gauge
Gauge is not all that critical, but we got 20 stitches and 15 "rows" (counting the prominent knit stitches) per 4 inches/10 cm, or 5 stitches and 3.75 rows per inch/2.5 cm in brioche stitch.
Size
The finished scarf is about 4 inches/10 cm wide and 80 inches/203 cm long.
