City Knits
With locations in Detroit and Mt. Clemens, City Knits has a good selection of yummy yarns and offers weekly stitch'n circles and free demonstrations in addition to regular knitting classes.

ImagiKnit

Artisan Knitworks
Artisan Knitworks in Grosse Pointe Park features the best hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns out there and is dedicated to supporting fiber artists, from new knitters to professionals.

Lady Peddler
Lady Peddler in Hastings is the source for spinning and knitting supplies. They sell commercial and hand-dyed yarns, raw fiber for felters and spinners, spinning wheels and more.

Mar-Rita Farm
Offering fleeces, roving, batting and needle-felting supplies as well as commercially produced yarn and knitting needles, Mar-Rita Farm in Hastings is a great place to go to literally meet the fiber producers.

Friends of Wool

Nautical Yarn in Ludington is a bustling shop with lots of regularly scheduled events to bring knitters together. They sell yarn from about two dozen companies as well as the standard needles and accessories.

Located in Midland, Material Mart is a fabric and yarn shop. While the emphasis is on quilting, the shop offers a good basic selection of yarn and classes in knitting and crochet.

Yarn for Ewe
Yarn for Ewe in Okemos has a great selection of yarn and needles, as well as fun classes such as a color workshop and a sweater class in which the student gets to choose the pattern.

JT Stitchery
Located in Rockford, JT Stitchery has a selection of quality yarns and is also a frame shop, sells custom needlework and vintage buttons. Fun!

Skeins on Main
Skeins on Main is on Main Street in Rochester and carries yarn from nearly 20 different manufacturers, as well as the needles, notions, baskets and patterns you'd expect from a good yarn store.
