Starting a left-slanting cable without a cable needle.

To start making a left-slanting cable, which would be made with a cable needle by holding the stitches on the needle at the front of your knitting, slip the first stitches (in this case we're doing a cable 4 front, so that's 2 stitches) with the yarn in back.

Then work the next 2 stitches as normal (meaning knit them).
