Now that we know how to work the base, the purl triangles and squares and the knit squares in entrelac knitting, it's time to learn how to finish off the project.

The first thing you need to know is that the top triangles start on the knit side so they are worked after a row of purl triangles and squares rather than after a knit row.

To begin, with the right side of the work facing and the right hand needle, slip the first stitch onto the right hand needle and pick up and knit 7 stitches along the edge of the first square. As usual you should have slipped stitches here to make it easy to pick up the stitches.
