If you need a hat fast for yourself or for a gift, look no further than the Women's Sampler Hat. Worked in super-bulky yarn, the brim is knit back and forth in Garter Stitch, then the project is joined in the round and sections of Stockinette and Reverse Stockinette finish the hat off.
Materials:
- about 52 yards of super-bulky yarn (I used Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Fig)
- 16-inch size 13 (9 mm) circular knitting needle and a set of four double-pointed needles of the same size
- scissors and yarn needle
Gauge:
8.5 stitches and 20 rows per 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch in the round (about 2 stitches and 5 rows per inch).
Size:
About 19 inches around and 8 inches tall unstretched. To fit an average-sized woman.
