Chain Stripes worked over 22 stitches.

Definition:

Works on multiples of 8 plus 6 stitches. Requires 3 colors of yarn; A is the background, B the first stripe and C the second stripe.

Row 1 (right side): With A, knit.

Row 2: With A, purl.

Rows 3 and 4: With B, knit.

Row 5: With A, knit 6, *slip 2 with yarn in back, knit 6. Repeat from * across.

Row 6: With A, purl 6, *slip 2 with yarn in front, purl 6. Repeat form * across.

Row 7: With B, repeat row 5.

Row 8: With B, knit.

Rows 9 and 10: Repeat rows 1 and 2 (with A).

Rows 11 and 12: With C, knit.

Row 13: With A, knit 2, *slip 2 with yarn in back, knit 6. Repeat from *, ending slip 2, knit 2.

Row 14: With A, purl 2, *slip 2 with yarn in from, purl 6. Repeat from *, ending slip 2, purl 2.

Row 15: With C, repeat row 13.

Row 16: With C, knit.

Repeat these rows for pattern.
