Bunny Head:
Cute little hats are the perfect gift for a mom of a toddler. It doesn't make any noise, won't break and is perfectly adorable on their little one.
This bunny hat features a rolled brim and bunny ears that curl in on themselves, as well as a face worked in duplicate stitch. It is not designed to cover the ears; add another two or three inches for that.

- set of four US size 5 double-pointed needles
- a bit of pink and blue yarn or embroidery floss, or colors of your choice for face
- scissors and yarn needle
Gauge:
23 stitches and 29 rows per 4 inches (5.75 stitches and 7.25 rows per inch). Take time to check gauge.

- Break yarn, thread onto a yarn needle, slip remaining stitches onto yarn and pull tight. Weave in ends.
Knitting the Ears:
- Cast on 12 stitches, leaving a 10-inch tail.
- Work in Stockinette Stitch for 6 inches (you can make them longer for the larger sizes if desired), ending on a purl row.
- Next row, knit 1, slip, slip knit, knit to the last 3 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 1.
- Purl the next row.
- Repeat these rows until 4 stitches remain. Next row, ssk, k2tog.
- Purl the next row. Knit the remaining 2 stitches together on the next row, cut yarn and pull through the last loop.
- Make 2.
- When finished, thread the cast-on tail onto a yarn needle, fold the ear in half and sew fold together. Weave in ends.
Adding the Bunny Face:
- Decide where you want the face to be.
- Begin with a bit of pink yarn or thread (I used a few plys from a pink yarn) and stitch a nose in duplicate stitch. I made a simple triangle.
- Use a bit of blue yarn or thread to make two eyes. (Again I made triangles, this time pointing up instead of down.)
- Based on where the face is, decide where you want the ears to be positioned and sew them to the top of the hat.
