I love this time of year because it's one of the times I get to formally ask what you all think about things in the knitting world and I get hundreds and hundreds of answers.
The nominating phase of the 2013 Readers' Choice Awards is now life. This will be a quick overview of the process; we'll spend more time this week looking at each of the five categories in depth.
Speaking of the categories, they are:
- Favorite Knitting-Related Blog
- Favorite Knitwear Designer
- Favorite Knitting Book of 2012
- Favorite Yarn Company
- Favorite Knitting Needle Brand
In this phase of the process, which runs through Feb. 11, you can nominate as many as three people, books or companies in each category. I'll tally the results and the top picks will become finalists.
The final voting will happen between Feb. 19 and March 19, and winners will be crowned March 27. Note: There are no actual crowns, or any other prizes, involved in "winning" this "contest." But those who garner the most votes will have bragging rights for a year, and that's kind of fun.
What's also fun is having lots and lots of participation. So go forth and nominate, tell your friends to do the same, share who you're nominating on social media, tell the companies/bloggers/designers you're naming that you nominated them and so on. I really want to know what you think. Really!
