It kind of hurts me to be writing about Christmas before Thanksgiving, but the truth is, if you're going to knit stuff you'd better get going. And if handmade Christmas stockings are in your plans for your family this year, you really better get going, since odds are you'll have to knit more than one.

In the meantime, check out this super-simple two-color, bulky knit stocking that's ripe for embellishment, whether duplicate stitching on a name, decorating with I-cord bows or sewing on buttons. It's a great first stocking project, and a bunch of them worked in different colors would be really cute on your fireplace.

I am looking for patters for clerical stoles for pastors. I’ve seen some really beautiful patterns but can’t remember where. They can be either knit or crochet.
