I know it's been at the top of the page for a while, but I just want to remind you that you have until Feb. 15 (that's next Wednesday!) to nominate your favorites for possible inclusion in the About.com Knitting Readers' Choice Awards. The nomination categories this year are:
- Favorite yarn company
- Favorite knitting needles
- Favorite knitting blogger/website
- Best book of 2011
- Favorite knitwear designer
So far, Knit Picks and Lion Brand are at the top in nominations for favorite yarn company, while the needle category is all over the place. The Yarn Harlot and Ravelry are big in the blog/website category, and Knit, Swirl! is dominating the best book category. The designer category is looking pretty open, too.
Nominating your favorites is easy. You just need to log in with Facebook or your forum account and then you can fill out the nominations forms. You can nominate up to three things in each category.
Once the nomination period is over, starting Feb. 22 they'll be about a month of voting on the final five in each category. Winners get bragging rights, and you get to share your favorites with the rest of us. It's easy and fun, so why not do it now? (And thanks!)
