One of my goals for each new year is always to finish up more projects. I have a ton of half-completed projects lying around -- worse, I have a few things that are knit up but the finishing isn't done so they're not able to be used.
I thought I would push myself to get more of these things done, and hopefully inspire you if you've got some unfinished projects around, by sharing when I finish some of these long-neglected projects. I'm calling it "Finish It Up Friday," though I can't guarantee I'll have something to share every week.
This week, though, I have a finished object that is probably the thing that's hung around my house the longest being almost finished. It's a ribbed shawl with sleeves. I remember it as being a Debbie Bliss pattern that was published in one of the women's magazines probably five or six years ago.
I knit it up right away but never sewed the sleeves up or attached them to the body of the shawl. I finally finished it earlier this week.
In the intervening years the cats have gotten to it a bit, so there are some pulls in the fabric, but it's still plenty warm and nice to wear around the house. And I feel so much better because I finally finished it!
What have you finished lately? Did you know you can share your finished objects and the stories behind them with About.com readers? It's as simple as filling out a form.
