Susan B. Anderson knows cute knits, and her book Itty-Bitty Toys is chock-full of 26 adorable projects for the kid or kid-at-heart on your list. From sweet animal classics like a pig and rabbit to a monkey and hippo knit with sock yarn, there are projects here for every taste and skill level.

A penguin project uses nothing but Garter Stitch squares, while the five reversible projects in the book (like a cat and turns into a mouse!) take a little more time and knitting skill to accomplish.

Whatever project you choose -- the "Princess and the Pea" set with 11 mattresses or the simple nesting blocks -- the kid you knit them for is sure to love and play with them for a long time. These are projects where the little details mean a lot and are worth all the extra time they take to pull off.

If you're looking for a unique gift for a kid on your list this year (or an adult who collects toys or animals) there are a lot of great ideas in this book that won't take a huge outlay of time but will have a big wow factor.

I am trying to figure out how to extend a knit stitch.
I found a
multiple of 8 here I would love to try. I have a 30-stitch -a-row scarf.

When I get to the end (24 stitches)..multof 8 3 times, what to do with the remaining 6 stitches?

Start over the pattern?
What about the even rows, how to do them please?
Count back and start there?
How do I figure this?

Thank you so so much for helping.
