I really love knitting purses and bags. You'd think someday I would decide that I have enough knit totes, but I always seem to come up with new ideas that I just have to try out.
Knit bags are a fun way to show off your knitting skills even when it's too warm to wear sweaters or scarves, and they're quite useful, especially if you felt them or line them with fabric (we'll be talking about both of those options later this week).
Right now I'd like to know if you knit purses or bags and how you feel about the notion of a knit bag if you haven't yet made one. Click all the answers that apply, and if you have a favorite kind of bag to knit or a tip for making great knit bags, please share in the comments!

I’ve knit various purses, some felted, some not, but most of my favorites ane Noni bags. There’s a tremendous variety of styles – everything from classic to elegant to whimsical to funky. There’s also a broad range of sizes, from small dressy clutches or wallet-on-a-string types to large shopping totes. The patterns are very well-written and easy-to-follow, including instuctions for multiple sizes, colorways, or other variations. Very fun and satisfying knits! I’ll admit that I tend to lean towards felted purses partly out of laziness (no need to sew a lining…), but I love my unfelted bags just as much. Low yarn-cost, relatively easy projects, MUCH quicker gratification than lace shawls (one of my other loves), and a completely unique, individual and personalized accessory that people notice (and assume was much harder than it really was). What’s not to love???
