Another Classic Wool

It seems like I've been focused a lot lately of yarns I'd think of as basics, the kind of yarn you go back to again and again, not because it's fancy but because it delivers quality, strength and good looks again and again.

Such is the case with Plymouth Galway. This basic, medium weight wool yarn is a workhorse. It comes in a wide variety of solids, heathers and multicolored options, so you can knit just about anything you like with it, from a simple sweater in school-color stripes to complicated colorwork and textures.

Most people will not find it scratchy, and it's also a great felting yarn; so no matter what kind of projects you're into, if you like wool yarn you're likely to enjoy working with this one. I actually have a bunch of red and black and am thinking hard about a felted checkers mat.
