Diagonal Design
Monday June 29, 2009
Stockinette Stitch is a great basic stitch pattern that I'm sure we all use a lot, but there are also a ton of different ways to jazz it up. For example this stitch pattern: Diagonals.
It's a relatively straightforward pattern, but you do need to pay attention to what row you're on at any given time to make sure that your diagonals are ending up where they need to be.
This stitch would be a great choice for a sweater, a bag, or anything else that would otherwise be worked in a more basic stitch pattern but could use a little more interest.

Comments
This pattern has a mistake of some sort in row four with a purl 8 at one point.
Needs fixing.
Oops. Got my knits and purls inverted there for a second. It’s fixed now.
