Wordless Wednesday: Finally Finished Project

Knitting Pure and Simple Sweater

This sweater might not look very impressive, but it's pretty cool to me because it represents me finally knitting something just for myself from someone else's pattern. This is a pattern from Knitting Pure and Simple that I started on for myself around Christmas in 2007 and finished on Christmas Day 2008. It had been languishing in a box most of last year with just half a sleeve and the hood to knit.

I guess it's actually a little generous to call this finished. Technically it still needs some kind of cord to go through the casing on the hood, which also needs to be sewn closed, and it should have a button at the top. But I've worn it twice in its unfinished state anyway, and it always makes me smile. Sometimes it is really great to take some time (even when it takes way longer than it should) to knit something for yourself.
