Books for New Knitters

Friday January 2, 2009
Navigating the knitting section of the bookstore (or your favorite online store, for that matter) can be a little intimidating no matter your skill level. How do you know if you'll like the projects in a book, or even if they suit your skill level?

This problem is especially troublesome for newer knitters, who might not know where to begin in evaluating a knitting book to see if it's right for them. For that reason I've come up with a list of 10 of my favorite books for new knitters, including books on fixing mistakes, learning about yarn and pattern and instruction books.

They're great gift choices for new knitters or places for new knitters to find the inspiration and instruction they need without being overwhelmed by patterns they feel like they'll never have the skills to complete (you will, trust us, and sooner than you think).

I'd love to hear some more recommendations for good books for new knitters if you have them.
