Each kit makes at least one full project and has leftover yarn that can be used either to make another project as a gift or to donate, or to make a slightly different project (as with the sushi kit -- there's plenty of yarn left over to make more little sushi pieces that you can use to decorate other items.
All of these kits also use felting to finish the projects, so it's a great way for a new felter to get her or his feet wet without investing a lot of time in a big project. (The company also sells a layette kit that makes three pieces that are not felted.) The kits are designed by Maggie Pace and in the case of the sushi kit include yarn, a zipper for the top of the bag, instructions for knitting and crochet and a gift tag, all in a cute little sushi-inspired container.
This would be a great little project to get all the knitters in the family if you're going to be together for long periods of sitting and knitting over the holidays, or for anyone who wants a cute, quick knitting and felting project.
