Wordless Wednesday: A Scarf in a Flash

Wednesday October 8, 2008
Mistake Rib Scarf Mistake Rib Scarf, knit in Blue Sky Alpaca Bulky, 50 percent wool, 50 percent alpaca. 45 yards per 100 gram skein, super bulky. (c) Sarah E. White.

I'm pretty sure this scarf represents a new record for me going from purchased yarn to finished project (last Friday to Sunday). This is actually a project for another publication so I don't have a link to the pattern, but you can figure it out if I tell you that it's Mistake Rib, took three skeins of yarn and was worked on size 15 needles across 11 stitches.

This yarn was fun, quick and easy to work with, though rather splitty thanks to the relatively loose nature of the spin. But it made for a luscious, huge scarf that would be great for a man or a woman and is perfect for holiday knitting since it works up in a flash.
