Rib Like the Romans Do

Roman Rib is a nice and easy knitting stitch pattern that makes an interesting texture on your knit fabric. It's simply a combination of Stockinette Stitch and ribbing, and is slightly different from Roman Stitch, which combines Stockinette and Moss Stitch.

This would be a good choice for anywhere you might otherwise use Stockinette Stitch to give a project more interest, such as a sweater or vest. The best part is this pattern is really easy to memorize, so you can still use it for your mindless television knitting without having to pay much more attention than you would have to if you were knitting a more basic stitch.
