When Was the Last Time You Bought Yarn?

Wednesday August 13, 2008
What with the slow economy and it being the hottest part of summer for half the world, you might not be thinking too much about buying yarn right now. Or you could be plotting Christmas presents or new projects, like I am, that are sending you to the knitting store or to online yarn sales despite the heat.

This week's poll question wonders how long it's been since you last bought yarn. I have to admit I've been "bad," I bought some yarn for a scarf that will be a gift yesterday and bought a bunch of yarn for various yummies at my local yarn store just a couple of weeks ago. That's probably the shortest time between two yarn purchases for me so far this year.

Poll: When was the last time you bought yarn?

I buy yarn if it strikes me and I have the money in my pocket! I am retiring the last of this year and and padding my stash for when I won’t have extra money in my pocket! LOL

I have been really trying to use up my boxes and boxes of yarn. It’s been over six months since I bought any yarn, however, I havn’t been knitting as much as I used to. Christmas is coming so I may visit the yarn shop soon.

Although my yarn closet is packed full, I couldn’t resist buying more a couple of months ago. After all, I did not have any of that particular multi-color.

My Daughter calles me a yarn junkie. Of course it dosen’t helpshe works at a store that sells yarn and each something new comes in or there is a sale she lets me know and there I am buying more. I have enough yarn to start my own store. The nice thing is when ever I want to start a new project, I just go through my stash and I am off and knitting.

I paid a visit to KnitPicks last week and ordered yarn for the September Sock Knitter’s Anonymous challenge on Ravelry. I hate to admit that I’d just bought yarn for socks the week before at my LYS. Unfortunately it didn’t meet the color requirement for September’s socks.

I am lucky, I supose i have a friend that lives in Ark and everytime she comes home she brings me “her orphans” so i usually have plenty of yarns to work with. I do plan to buy some soon though as I have some projects that i need specific yarns for.
