Parallelograms

Basic parallelograms are really easy to knit and give a fun texture to your knitting. These Vertical Parallelograms are great because the fabric is basically reversible: the parallelograms just slant the opposite direction on the opposite side of the fabric.

That makes this stitch a great choice for scarves or afghans where you want both sides to look nice, but the pattern would also make a nice addition to a sweater, vest, or anything else you want to take beyond basic Stockinette.
