Wordless Wednesday: Cascade 220 Superwash

Wednesday July 9, 2008
Cascade 220 Superwash
Cascade 220 Superwash, 100 percent superwash wool. 220 yards per 100 gram ball, medium weight. (c) Sarah E. White.

Cascade 220 was already one of my favorite yarns ever, but there's even more to love about the superwash version, which keeps the softness and dizzying array of colors that the original yarn has (as well as the generous yardage) but you can put it in the washer.

I agree,Cascade 220 superwash is a wonderful yarn. I wonder if you can order a color chart from Cascade. It would be great to have at home to work with when putting a project together. The colors of the yarn on line are not very reliable. This can cause a loss of time and money when your yarn arrives to your home and it is not the color you thought you ordered.

I made a beautiful sweater in 220 superwash for my son, then washed it gentle cycle. The whole thing stretched and won’t go back to its original form! The stitches look open now rather than tight. I am devastated, as it took a month to knit and my son loves it. What did I do wrong? Can I fix the problem?
