Have you ever knit with wire? Did you even know such a thing was possible? It is, and it's actually a pretty fun thing to try.

If you've never worked with wire before it can take a little practice, so knit yourself a little "swatch" before trying out a basic project like my knit wire bracelet, which you can personalize in a number of different ways.

This easy pattern is just intended to show you what's possible with knit wire projects and hopefully to get your creative juices flowing to design and knit your own knit wire jewelry projects.

And if you're new to wire knitting and a little worried about just jumping in there, stay tuned later this week for tons of tips.

This is an ancient Ottoman Turkish craft. I tried it when we were living in Izmir - made a bracelet with nazar boncu (evil eye) beads. Lots of fun!
