Broken Rib Times Two

Double Broken RibDouble Broken Rib. (c) Sarah E. White.
Double Broken Rib, our stitch of the week, offers an interesting texture to a knit fabric. It looks like ribs of knit stitches with alternating knits and purls between, giving it a look that's a cross between ribbing and basketweave.

It's a really simple four row repeat that would be great on just about any project, from a sweater or vest to an afghan or wrap. The back side looks nice, too, even though the pattern isn't the same on both sides.
