This cute American Flag Placemat is an easy and fun way to celebrate patriotic holidays, from the Fourth of July to Flag Day. In fact, you can use these placemats all summer to lend a festive flair to any event.

Knit in acrylic yarn (or you could use cotton), they're easy to take care of, and given the Garter Stitch pattern they're easy to knit as well. The only trick is remembering to twist the yarns together when switching colors on the blue block portion; otherwise that part won't be attached to the rest, making for a pretty funky looking flag.
