Knitting for the Weekend
Thursday June 19, 2008
We have a long weekend coming up pretty soon in the states, which has me thinking of lazy days spent knitting (and maybe wearing cozy knits to make up for the over-air-conditioned environment).
If you're looking for some quick, chunky, cozy projects, look no further than Wenlan Chia's Twinkle's Weekend Knits. The book has 20 patterns for scarves, sweaters, tops, a dress and a throw perfect for casual weekends (and weekend knitting).
Most of the projects are knit on really large needles (size 15 US or larger) making for really textured finished objects that knit up in a flash. If you want to forget that we've still got a long summer in front of us, try one of these projects to help you look forward to the first cool day of fall. Or if you live somewhere where you're just getting into the cold season, you'll love the scarves and sweaters in this book.
