Celebrating Summer

Olympic ringsOlympic rings. (c) Sarah E. White.
The Summer Olympic Games are just a couple of months away, and if you're a big Olympics fan, it can be fun to incorporate that into your knitting.

This pattern puts the famous Olympic rings on a basic square of Stockinette Stitch. They're worked after the knitting is done using duplicate stitch, which is a great way to add small sections of multiple colors to a project.

I envisioned this as a potential square for an afghan knit this year, maybe even a baby blanket for someone being born this summer. But because the rings are simply a color chart, you could work them on anything. Have fun until the games begin!
