Did you know that June 9 is World Wide Knit in Public Day? This annual event brings together people from all over the world to knit in public wherever they are for that day.
There are official KIP events, as well as people signed up to knit solo wherever they happen to be.
Official events can be found here. Eighteen countries and most states of the Union are represented, but even if you can't make it to a big event, get out your needles on June 9 and get outside! At the very least, you might turn the heads of some muggles.

Hi,
We were too late to submit our event to the WWKIPday.com site to be listed.
Some of us from will be knitting here in South Africa at Mandela Square in Sandton, Johannesburg. There will also be a group knitting in Middelburg.
Anyone is welcome to join us from 9:30 a.m.
The date is actually 14th June (next Saturday)
Actually, this post was from 2007, and it was June 9 then. But yes, in 2008, its the 14th.
